Janic Luca Belz

Junior Research Fellow - d|part

Janic is a Junior Research Fellow at d|part and contributes to research projects on political participation and representation, primarily through quantitative analysis.

Janic gained experience in quantitative social research in various roles, including as a research assistant at the Institute of Social Sciences at the University of Koblenz-Landau. His research to date has focused on the intersection of political behavior and democratic norms. As editor of an anthology for local elected officials and public servants affected by hate and violence, he combined academic perspectives with practical knowledge dissemination. Janic gained further practical experience in political communication, in a parliamentary office, and through democracy-related voluntary work.

After completing his bachelor’s degree in Social and Communication, Janic completed an M.Sc. in European Studies at Maastricht University and an M.A. in Political Science at the University of Cologne. His master’s thesis was awarded the Master Thesis Prize by Maastricht University.
