Svenja Samstag
Junior Research Fellow - d|part

Svenja is a Research Fellow at d|part und in her work she focuses primarily on quantitative analyses of political participation and representation, with a particular emphasis on young people and youth. Her research interests also include social movements and political parties as channels for interest representation.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Philipps University Marburg, which included a semester abroad at Sciences Po Lille, and a Master’s degree from Leipzig University. Svenja gained practical experience in political education (including Demokratiezentrum Wien), in academic research, and in organized interest representation.
Svenja brings together academic and practice-based perspectives on political participation. Her previous publications have explored, among other topics, European youth participation projects as well as young people’s political attitudes and perceptions of democracy.
